On the Shoulders of Heroes
Most Half-elves are born from humans mothers and elven fathers. Often male Elves go through an adventurous period in their puberty and some of them leave their native villages to explore the human world. In general, Half-elves combine the talents of Elves and Humans and mix well with both races. Many Half-elves live in Human towns and villages, although it is not uncommon for them to explore their Elven roots.
Half-elves are smaller than humans and taller than Elves. Many humans think Half-elves are attractive, with androgynous traits, pointy ears and straight hair. They are often slim, with little facial- or body hair.
The first Elves were amazed by the size of Human and Dwarven cities. When more Elves heard the stories about stone houses they of them had to see it with their own eyes. These first explorers set an example for older Elves to see the world of the younger races. Although Half-elves are a relatively young race they are well accepted among the common people.
Often the Half-elves themselves have trouble finding their place in society. Some Humans are jealous of Half-elves, for their good looks and society aptitude. This drives Half-elves towards a chaotic, individualistic disposition. It is not uncommon for older Half-elves to return to Elven villages, to live with their other parent or relatives. Elves are generally more comfortable around half-kin than humans as their longer lives allow them to put things in perspective.
Half-elves generally accept their parents religion. The once who grow up among humans have the same habits as men around them, the Half-elves in Elven villages take on Elven customs. In general, Half-elves tend towards creative or adventurous professions.
Half-elves often adapt to the society around them.
